Vendor agreement
PlateRoute Vendor Terms
These terms apply to every restaurant and home food vendor that applies to or sells through PlateRoute, operated by Instant Tech Solution.
1. Joining PlateRoute
PlateRoute is a marketplace that helps customers discover food businesses and place orders. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. PlateRoute may verify the business, owner or manager, address, contact details, menu, and any required registration or food-safety information before activation.
You confirm that you are authorised to represent the business, are at least 18 years old, and have supplied complete and truthful information. You must keep your business profile, menu, prices, availability, contact details, and opening or offer schedule accurate.
2. Vendor responsibilities
- Prepare food safely, hygienically, and in line with all applicable Nigerian laws and local requirements.
- Hold any licences, permits, registrations, and approvals required for your type of food business.
- Use genuine food descriptions, prices, photos, ingredients, portions, availability details, and allergy information where relevant.
- Do not list illegal, unsafe, counterfeit, misleading, expired, or restricted products.
- Keep dashboard passwords private and promptly tell PlateRoute if an account may be compromised.
- Treat customers, riders, staff, and PlateRoute representatives respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, fraud, or abuse is prohibited.
3. Orders, fulfilment, and delivery
You are responsible for monitoring your approved dashboard, accepting orders you can fulfil, preparing the correct items, and updating order status honestly. You must not mark an order as accepted, dispatched, or delivered when that status is not true.
Each vendor manages its own staff and riders. You are responsible for your delivery operation, delivery charges, food packaging, timing, customer communication, and resolving fulfilment issues that arise from your business. If an item is unavailable or an order cannot be completed, contact the customer promptly and follow the agreed refund or replacement process.
4. Payments and fees
Where online payment is enabled, your business uses its own Paystack payment configuration. The customer's order may include the food subtotal, a delivery fee where used, and the PlateRoute service fee displayed at checkout. The configured split arrangement sends the agreed food and delivery amount to the restaurant account and the PlateRoute service fee to the platform account.
You are responsible for giving correct payment configuration and for your own taxes, records, refunds, chargebacks, and business obligations. PlateRoute may correct obvious configuration errors, pause payments, or hold activation while a payment setup is incomplete or appears unsafe.
5. Customer and platform data
Use customer details only to fulfil, deliver, support, or resolve the customer's order. Do not sell, publish, add customers to marketing lists without permission, or use their details for unrelated purposes. You must protect information visible in the dashboard and limit staff access to people who need it for work.
PlateRoute may use your name, logo, menu images, descriptions, and business profile to operate and promote the marketplace. You confirm you have the right to provide this content and that it does not violate another person's rights.
6. Review, suspension, and termination
PlateRoute may refuse, pause, suspend, remove, or investigate a business or listing when there is a safety concern, suspected fraud, inaccurate information, repeated poor fulfilment, a customer complaint, a legal requirement, or a breach of these terms. Where reasonable, we will explain the action and give you a chance to provide information.
You may stop using PlateRoute by asking us to deactivate your business. Outstanding orders, payments, refunds, legal obligations, and records required for security or compliance may continue after deactivation.
7. Platform role and disputes
PlateRoute provides technology for discovery, ordering, notifications, and related tools. Unless stated otherwise in writing, vendors remain independent businesses and are responsible for their food, staff, riders, fulfilment, and compliance. Parties should first try to resolve a concern directly and promptly. These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Nigeria.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the platform grows or where law or operations require it. Material updates will be shown on this page with a new version and effective date. Continued use after the effective date means the updated terms apply.
